Dental porcelain can be used in the customization of crowns, veneers, and inlays and onlays to closely replicate the natural appearance of tooth enamel while restoring ideal form, stability, and resilience to your smile. As indirect ( laboratory made ) restorations, these are designed in a preselected shade to match your natural or desired smile image as our team works diligently to deliver harmony in esthetics and function, creating a “Smile You Would Be Proud To Wear…ANYWHERE!”.
Porcelain crowns are the ideal choice when deciding to recreate the shape and function of a badly damaged tooth. These replace the external portion of a tooth in its entirety, mimicking nature in form and esthetic appearance while simultaneously building a healthy and stable bite one , or multiple, crowns at a time.
Porcelain veneers are chosen to restore the natural and beautiful esthetics a smile deserves. Thoughtful smile design utilizes porcelain veneers to redefine harmonious form, length, color, and position in scenarios displaying short, chipped, fractured, discolored, or malpositioned teeth.
Porcelain Inlays and Onlays are restorations used to repair an otherwise healthy tooth with a large filling made of silver amalgam or tooth colored resins. Expected to replace old fillings while strengthening the structure of a tooth and customizing an esthetically pleasing appearance, these porcelain restorations placed within the wall confines of a natural tooth deliver durability and longevity to our smile.
Also known as “gum disease”, periodontal disease is a silent, persistently painless bacterial infection around the gums and the bone that support your teeth, ultimately resulting in the loss of bone and teeth if left as is. Maintaining healthy teeth and gums is not just about fresh breath or a shining smile; it affects more than just your mouth. It is important to your overall health! Affecting close to 80 percent of U.S. adults, gum disease is the leading cause of adult tooth loss if left untreated. And, not only does periodontal disease erode the foundation of your mouth, it could pose a threat to your body. Uncontrolled diabetes, heart disease, oral cancer, stroke, pregnancy complications, severe osteopenia, respiratory infections, and dementia/Alzheimers are areas of our general health affected by uncontrolled periodontal disease. Smile proudly! Invest in yourself today by embarking on a journey culminating in a “Smile You Would Be Proud To Wear…ANYWHERE!”
Teeth that are not aligned properly in your mouth create a condition known as “malocclusion”. Crooked teeth could be a problem; left untreated, mal-aligned teeth can lead to periodontal disease ( gum disease ), and can create abnormal amounts of stress on teeth and jaws, leading to premature wear. Malocclusion affects 74 percent of American adults. Left as is, it may affect your periodontal health. It is difficult to remove plaque when teeth are not straight. Bacteria ( plaque ) can cause gum tissue surrounding the tooth to degrade, and if not treated, result in bone loss. Straight teeth are healthier teeth and when properly aligned can help you avoid the negative effects of periodontal disease.
Straightening your teeth with Invisalign can make a significant difference to having a healthy mouth and keeping your teeth for a lifetime. A set of clear aligners that are custom-made to gradually straighten your teeth week by week, millimeter by millimeter, to the desired position prescribed by Dr. Dargham will start you on the road to a healthy mouth today. Virtually undetectable, Invisalign, unlike braces, can be removed for eating, brushing, and flossing. Hardly anyone will know that you are on your way to having that “Smile You Would Be Proud To Wear…ANYWHERE!”.
Missing teeth can have a major impact on your appearance, ability to chew and speak, and overall health. Nothing can take the place of a healthy set of teeth; but, when disease or an accident ends in tooth loss, dental implants can offer you a look and feel very similar to your own teeth. As an excellent option in smile restoration, dental implants are artificial tooth roots usually made of titanium, a metal proven to be biocompatible with bone and other tissues. After surgical placement beneath your gums, the implants fuse to the bone of your jaw, offering stable support to naturally appearing teeth. Specific designs are planned to create individual teeth, bridges, or dentures mounted to the implants. This secure fit prevents shifting or slipping of the prosthetic appliances, an especially important benefit when eating and speaking. Great advantage is had in the fact that dental implants help to preserve the jaw bone, are easily cleaned, do not require the involvement of healthy adjacent teeth to finalize their restoration, and do not suffer from dental caries. Dental implants benefit persons who have lost one or more of their natural teeth and are not satisfied with other options. Most people can have successful implants. Successful implant therapy requires you to have healthy gums, sufficient underlying bone, be in good general health, and be highly motivated to see the process through as Dr. Rita Dargham and her team assist you in creating that “Smile You Would Be Proud To Wear…
Dental bonding is a technique in which a tooth-colored resin material ( a composite of plastic fillers ) is layered into or over a tooth to restore or improve the appearance, function, or stability of your smile. Using a special ultraviolet light, the composite resin is “bonded” to the tooth, restoring the natural form, esthetics, and shape of the dentition in just one visit. Dental bonding is chosen as an option to restore several conditions. These include, but may not be limited to, the following:
• To eliminate spaces between teeth
• To lengthen teeth ( make them look longer )
• To change the shape of a tooth
• To repair cavities ( decay ) in teeth
• To replace silver amalgam restorations as a cosmetic alternative to traditional fillings
• To cover an exposed root surface caused by gum recession ( receding gums )
• To fix chipped, fractured, or cracked teeth
• To mask discolored teeth or unsightly stains
Unless used to fill cavities, dental bonding usually does not require dental anesthesia. As one of the less costly dental cosmetic procedures, bonding requires very little removal of tooth enamel in the restoration of a beautiful and healthy mouth, allowing us to create that “Smile You Would Be Proud To Wear…ANYWHERE!”.
